Kingston, Jamaica / International – Global reggae fusion artist and music producer Tefkemet, known for his genre-blending sound rooted in reggae, soca, and Afrobeats, has released his powerful new single "Program", a dynamic collaboration featuring Wippa Demus and Da Prophet Tishamba-X, recorded and created at the iconic Grafton Recording Studios in Kingston, Jamaica.
The track is already gaining international buzz, crowned #1 Song on the World of Reggae Show on WPRK 91.5 FM, shining a spotlight on the song's authenticity, cross-cultural unity, and hard-hitting reggae message wrapped in a modern Afrobeats riddim.
A Historic Creation at Grafton Studios
"Program" was birthed in the creative heart of Kingston with the blessing of one of reggae's most respected institutions—Grafton Recording Studios, owned and operated by award-winning Jamaican music producer Mikey Bennett (Michael Bennett). Known for his work with legends like Shabba Ranks, Beenie Man, and Buju Banton, Bennett's studio provided the high-caliber energy and sonic atmosphere that gave "Program" its storytelling strength and cultural heartbeat.
A Meeting of Musical Minds
The collaboration was sparked when Tefkemet and Da Prophet Tishamba-X were introduced to Wippa Demus through a mutual friend in Kingston. Upon being introduced, Wippa Demus said:
"Selassie Picney, meh want to do a song with you to!"
Demus took the duo straight to Grafton Studios, where Tefkemet had brought a selection of original riddims. The crew chose a unique Afrobeats-inspired riddim, and the hook was born right there on the spot. Inspired by the vibes, Tefkemet and Da Prophet Tishamba-X wrote their verses overnight and returned the next day to record the record under Grafton's historic roof.
Visuals Straight from the Source
The visual storytelling of "Program" is just as compelling as the song. The official video was filmed inside Grafton Recording Studios, allowing fans to see the genuine creative energy and camaraderie that unfolded during the session.
